Give your old athletic shoes new life by recycling rather than adding them to the landfill. The Nike recycling plant in Oregon takes old athletic shoes and slices them into three sections: the rubber outsole, the foam midsole, and the fabric or leather upper. The program accepts all brands of athletic shoes, as long as they don’t contain any metal (e.g., eyelets or cleats). Each separate part of the sneaker is recycled into Nike Grind, a material used in different types of athletic fields, courts, tracks and playgrounds.

For individuals interested in recycling small quantities of worn-out athletic shoes, please visit the Nike Website to find a drop-off location near you. In Las Vegas, the following retail partners can accept 10 pairs or less:

Las Vegas South
7400 S. Las Vegas Boulevard, Box 1
Las Vegas, NV 89123

The Forum Shops at Caesar's
3500 Las Vegas Boulevard South

Please call ahead to inquire regarding donations of more than 10 pairs.
